An open door through which the Gospel shines

Who are these great people with me here?
These are some of the people that I will be serving with at the Christian International School of Prague (CISP). On the right, is Ben. He's one of my fellow history/social studies teachers! He will be teaching highschool, I, middle school. In the black is Melodee. She has been in Prague for a year already now, working in the office. In the blue is Michelle, a fellow Grove City College 2010 grad! She'll be teaching English. And of course, there's me. I'm teaching social studies for middle school and music.

Last night I returned from a trip to several states in the midwest. One of the week-long stops in my trip was in Minneapolis for TeachBeyond new-member orientation. Melodee is not a member of TeachBeyond, but she happened to be in the area that week. So she came by to meet Michelle, Ben and myself in person! It was exciting to meet someone from the school with whom I have been emailing so much!

TeachBeyond orientation itself was a significant blessing. We talked about a lot that was great, but one of the things which was most exciting to me was about TeachBeyond's vision to reach children for Christ through education! TeachBeyond is sending teachers many places around the world and providing teacher training seminars for schools all over the globe too. In many places where Christianity is not the dominant religion, missionaries are opening schools for their own kids and allowing non-Christian kids from the community to come join the classrooms! Non-Christian children are learning about Jesus Christ as they learn about the mathematic and scientific (for example) order He created!

I have been informed that 80% of Christians come to faith in their youth, but less than 20% of missions is directed at youth or children. TeachBeyond seeks to reach the children of the world with the Gospel through education. The worldwide desire for education is an open door to reach kids and their families for Jesus Christ! Half of CISP's students do not come from Christian homes. Please join me in my upcoming ministry there by praying for me and the school, and by helping me to have the financial resources to live there.

This student from CISP is studying the Bible.
